Objectives The participant can:<br />

> Describe the advantages and disadvantages of MIG welding and soldering techniques<br />

as well as of aluminum welding<br />

> Describe the established application areas of MIG soldering and aluminum welding on<br />

the vehicle<br />

> Name the approved filler materials for MIG soldering and aluminum welding<br />

> Name special types of joints and produce professional joints using adhesive bonding,<br />

riveting and mixed techniques<br />

> Name the special features of aluminum materials, their properties and repair<br />

techniques for the R231<br />

Contents > Joining methods currently used in production<br />

> Repair methods applied in the Mercedes-Benz workshop with respect to joining<br />

techniques<br />

> Producing test joints<br />

> Processing of aluminum materials and their repair using practical examples<br />

> Evaluation of various destructively tested joints, in particular adhesive and riveted<br />

joints<br />

> Results of adhesive and riveted joints<br />
