Objectives The participant can:<br />

> Describe the design of on-board electrical systems, the integrated bus systems and<br />

the basic functions of each in the new Actros (BR 96x) for long-distance haulage<br />

> Describe the functions and interaction between the different subsystems and perform<br />

diagnosis work on these components<br />

> Describe the design and function of the current instrumentation<br />

> Connect accessories correctly to the new on-board electrical system<br />

Contents > On-board electrical system architecture and bus systems in the new Actros (BR 96x)<br />

for long-distance haulage<br />

> Strategies and practical procedures to follow when diagnosing complex electrical and<br />

electronic systems<br />

> By means of fault simulation and appropriate diagnostic operations, familiarization<br />

with the interplay and typical interactions of the various subsystems through practical<br />

work<br />

> Work through current topics and diagnostic cases<br />

Optional prerequisite The participant has worked through e-<strong>Training</strong> "T0095E • Trucks • The New Actros in<br />

Long-Distance Haulage • e-<strong>Training</strong> • Go", and the CBT programs "Controller Area<br />

Network (Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles) Part 1 - Fundamentals" (order no.<br />

1290 4716) and "Actros Networking" Parts 1-2 (1290 4330/ 31).<br />

He/she further possesses excellent knowledge of electrical and electronic systems. The<br />

participant is proficient in the use of Star Diagnosis, including HMS 990.<br />

<strong>Training</strong> Depth Run Method Theorie 60%, Practice40%<br />

Note Participants can test and refresh their knowledge using the CBT program "Wiring<br />

Diagrams" Parts 1-3 (order no. 1290 4722/ 23 and 1290 4312). The content of this<br />

training is directed at repair technicians with little experience in on-board electrical<br />

systems.<br />
