of three new projectors employing the new
mechanism was made in the Mercury Theatre
at Elmwood Park, 111. The theatre's
projection booth is shown above.
Additional equipment included Peerless
Magnarc lamps. Simplex C-60 dual channel
sound system with A-2 Voice of the
Theatre loud speaker system, Bausch &
Lomb Super Cinephor f:2.0 projection
lenses and 2 Hertner transverters.
The front wall of the booth is entirely
free of conduit. The floor is of insulating
cork and the booth is fluorescent lighted.
The Mercury is owned and operated by
Howard J. Beck & Associates.

At 1950 TESMA Show
The 1950 trade show and convention
of the Theatre Equipment & Supply Manufacturers
Ass'n will be held October 8
through October 11 at the Stevens Hotel in
Chicago, according to a recent announcement.
Preliminary plans for the meeting were
discussed during a recent visit of TESMA
President Oscar P. Neu to the organization's
new national offices in Hollywood. Exhibits
will officially open at noon, Sunday, October
8 and close on Wednesday, October 11.
Due to the fact that many manufacturers
of theatre equipment requested exhibit
space last year too late to be accommodated,
it was decided to increase the exhibit
area to accommodate 125 booths.
The general TESMA business meeting
will be held on Tuesday morning and will
be preceded by a breakfast for TESMA
members. A meeting of the TESMA board
of directors and officers will be held on
Sunday. TESMA Secretary Roy Boomer
stated that already many manufacturers
have requested space, but that no space
will be allotted until the floor plans have
been completed and the prospectus mailed
to TESMA members, about May 1.
