Advantages to Developing Countries
Formaldehyde has been shown to be harmful indoor air pollutant present in
high levels in many indoor spaces. Using Sorghum Board and low-VOC
finishes helps reduce these formaldehyde emissions and contribute to a
healthier indoor environment. Sorghum Board emits only trace amounts of
naturally occurring formaldehyde existing in all organic materials. The
adhesive used in the manufacture of Sorghum Board does not emit any
formaldehyde into the ambient indoor atmosphere. Sorghum Boards are
produced in a facility that uses low-energy processes with minimal wastewater
and air emissions. Their labor force is paid a better-than-market wage and
works in good conditions.
