Disadvantages to Developing Countries
1. Deterioration of some equipment due to old age. This requires frequent
replacement of some spare parts which means more expenditure in
forex for the spares whose raw materials like stainless steel, are not
locally available.
2. There is a shortage of forex to service high technology and very
sophisticated equipment. This means there is a need to shop around
for technological levels that are manageable within the region.
3. Non-availability of credit facilities in the country makes it difficult to set
up more cogeneration systems.
