Secure IDE Devices and<br />
Diskette Drives<br />
IDE Controller<br />
Diskette Drive Access<br />
This option lets you enable or disable access to your IDE<br />
hard disk drives and diskette drives.<br />
All IDE devices (such as hard disk and CD-ROM drives)<br />
attached to the IDE controller can be disabled using the<br />
IDE Controller field.<br />
Diskette drives attached to the system board or riser card<br />
can be disabled using the Diskette Drive Access field.<br />
If Diskette Write <strong>Pro</strong>tect is enabled, diskette drives<br />
attached to the system board or riser card will operate in a<br />
read-only mode.<br />
Remote Administration Select Enabled for this option if you want to allow remote<br />
administration, such as the POST/BIOS Update Utility<br />
program, to be run from a remote system without<br />
requiring the entry of your administrator password. If the<br />
power-on Password <strong>Pro</strong>mpt option is set to On, the<br />
prompt option will be reset to Dual when Remote<br />
Administration is set to Enabled.<br />
Power-On Password This options lets you set, change, or delete a power-on<br />
password. You can also set Password <strong>Pro</strong>mpt to On, Off,<br />
or Dual.<br />

Administrator Password This options lets you set, change, or delete an administrator<br />
password. You can also set Power-on password<br />
changeable by user to No or Yes.<br />

Adapter ROM Security If this option is set to Yes, the keyboard will be locked<br />
during adapter ROM initialization. This can be used in<br />
conjunction with an administrator password to prevent the<br />
use of adapter ROM-based utility programs.<br />
SystemCare This option enables or disables the wireless<br />
radio-frequency communication feature in your computer.<br />
This feature is standard on some models only. See “Using<br />
Security Features” on page 32 for general information on<br />
security features.<br />
