Energy saving
E n v i r o n m e n t a l

maximizes natural
light, reduces heat
gain and saves energy.
Besides, we frequently
review the energy
consumption status
of the building and
identify any energy
saving opportunities.
For example, closure of a portion of carpark area during non-peak
hour, replacement of the low bay lamps with T5 fluorescent tubes
at carpark area and replacement of light bulbs at lift lobbies and
common corridor with energy saving light bulb helps reduce energy
consumption. Other measures include replacing all the traditional
electromagnetic ballasts of fluorescent tubes in common corridors
with electronic ones to achieve the energy saving objective. Besides,
we strived to tap into various natural resources, such as using wind
and solar power to supply electricity for the building.
Waste Recycling
We have placed waste
separation and recycling
bins at carpark lobbies,
food court, children
playground and each
floor of office tower.
Enormous amount of
commercial-use waste
such as waste paper,
aluminium can, plastic
and metal materials,
other reusable items (i.e. computers, compact discs, ink cartridge and
rechargeable batteries) are being recycled. In 2008, we have been
awarded with Certificates of “Programme on Source Separation
of Commercial & Industrial Waste” by the Environmental Protection
Department.
Landscape
A landscape area of 2,400 sq.m. is provided on the 5/F, 9/F podiums and
driveway. The landscape area helps refresh and cool the surroundings
while offering a green refuge in the bustling city.
To achieve sustainability in Grand Century Place, we will continue to
enhance our green management. We have formed a Green Committee
to review the green management strategies regularly, organize green
exhibitions and related activities, such as donation of old clothes and
computers to charity organizations. We aim to share our experience
and practices among different professionals. We hope that the green
message and the green building concept can be further developed and
spread so that the next generation can live in a sustainable world.

嶄 新 環 保 科 技
我 們 引 入 嶄 新 環 保 科 技 , 成 為 香 港 首 個 大 型 商 場 於 停 車 場 加 裝 泊 車 指 引 系
統 , 此 系 統 大 大 節 省 駕 駛 者 泊 車 的 時 間 , 從 而 減 少 車 輛 的 廢 氣 排 放 及 汽 油
消 耗 , 改 善 停 車 場 的 空 氣 質 素 及 溫 度 。 同 時 我 們 又 引 入 廚 餘 分 解 機 , 將 食
肆 的 廚 餘 轉 化 為 水 和 二 氧 化 碳 , 減 少 廢 物 。
節 約 能 源
商 廈 在 建 築 設 計 注 入 環 保 元 素 , 採 用 低 散 熱 表 層 的 雙 層 玻 璃 , 能 加 強 隔 熱
及 隔 音 功 能 。 我 們 亦 定 期 檢 討 大 廈 能 源 使 用 情 況 , 發 掘 節 能 機 會 , 例 如 :
於 非 繁 忙 時 間 關 閉 最 低 層 的 停 車 場 , 成 功 節 省 20% 的 停 車 場 電 力 消 耗 。 另
外 , 落 貨 區 的 HID 燈 更 換 為 T5 光 管 ; 大 堂 及 走 廊 燈 泡 改 用 慳 電 燈 炮 ; 傳 統
電 磁 火 牛 已 全 部 更 換 為 電 子 火 牛 等 。 再 者 , 我 們 亦 積 極 利 用 可 再 生 能 源 ,
利 用 風 力 及 太 陽 能 為 部 份 大 廈 裝 置 供 電 , 務 求 成 為 模 範 綠 色 商 廈 。
廢 物 分 類 回 收
我 們 已 於 停 車 場 客 大 堂 、 美 食 廣 場 、 兒 童 遊 樂 場 及 寫 字 樓 每 一 樓 層 擺 放
廢 物 分 類 回 收 筒 , 並 積 極 推 動 廢 物 分 類 回 收 計 劃 , 將 回 收 到 大 量 商 用 廢
物 如 廢 紙 、 鋁 罐 、 塑 料 及 金 屬 類 物 料 ( 如 光 碟 、 碳 粉 盒 、 充 電 池 等 ) 循 環 再
用 , 並 於 2008 年 獲 發 環 保 署 工 商 業 廢 物 源 頭 分 類 証 書 以 示 表 揚 。
綠 化 空 間
新 世 紀 廣 場 擁 有 2,400 平 方 米 的 綠 化 面 積 , 茂 盛 的 綠 色 植 物 和 花 卉 , 能 淨
化 空 氣 、 降 低 溫 度 , 使 空 氣 更 清 新 怡 人 , 讓 租 戶 及 巿 民 在 鬧 巿 之 中 亦 能 享
受 綠 色 生 活 。
為 達 致 保 護 環 境 持 續 性 , 我 們 成 立 環 保 委 員 會 , 定 期 檢 討 環 保 工 作 的 成
效 ; 為 員 工 、 租 戶 提 供 環 保 知 識 的 訓 練 及 推 廣 , 更 舉 辦 環 保 資 訊 展 覽 及 舊
衣 物 、 電 腦 回 收 活 動 , 轉 贈 弱 勢 社 群 。 我 們 希 望 與 其 他 專 業 機 構 分 享 有 關
環 保 管 理 , 推 廣 環 保 意 識 及 環 保 建 築 概 念 , 讓 下 一 代 能 繼 續 享 用 天 然 資
