2. Committee Chair<br />

The district trainer serves as the chair of the training committee and assigns responsibility<br />

for training meetings and functions as necessary.<br />

3. Additional Qualifications of Members<br />

Preference should be given to Rotarians with training, education or facilitation<br />

experience.<br />

4. Duties and Responsibilities<br />

a) The committee must have a clear understanding that they are responsible to the<br />

convener of each meeting.<br />

b) The committee should work with the governor-elect on training needs in the district<br />

for the current Rotary year related to:<br />

1) PETS<br />

2) District assembly<br />

3) District team training seminar (which includes assistant governor training)<br />

c) The committee should work with the governor on training needs in the district for the<br />

current Rotary year related to:<br />

1) District leadership seminar<br />

2) Rotaract leadership training<br />

3) Club-level training<br />

4) Other training events in the district, as appropriate<br />

d) The committee may also have secondary responsibility for the district Rotary<br />

Foundation seminar and the district membership seminar. These meetings are the<br />

primary responsibility of other district committees. The training committee may<br />

consult on training related issues.<br />

e) Under the direction of the meeting’s convener, the committee is responsible for one or<br />

more of the following aspects:<br />

1) Program content (in accordance with board-recommended curricula)<br />

2) Conducting sessions<br />

3) Identification of speakers and other volunteers<br />

4) Preparing training leaders<br />

5) Program evaluation<br />

6) Logistics<br />

f) If the district is part of a multidistrict PETS, the governor-elect, in accordance with the<br />

policies and procedures of that multidistrict PETS, will select an individual to<br />

develop and conduct training at PETS. This individual should be a member of the<br />
