5.040.8. RI Membership Slogan<br />

The Board has adopted the membership slogan “Each Rotarian: Reach One, Keep One.”<br />

5.040.9. Recognition Pin for New Member Sponsors<br />

The RI Board has approved a recognition pin for Rotarians who sponsor new members,<br />

with RI covering the cost of the pins and postage to the clubs. Clubs will be responsible<br />

for maintaining the records for new member sponsors. The general secretary has<br />

established a system for ordering the pins through the RI distribution center. (October<br />

5.050.2. Pre-Induction Information<br />

Clubs should ensure that proper pre-induction information be provided to prospective<br />

members which clearly explains the history of Rotary and the privileges and<br />

responsibilities of a Rotarian. The club classification, membership, membership<br />

development and Rotary information committees should meet cooperatively to focus on<br />

membership development and especially to see that the club has an effective preinduction<br />

orientation program as well as a post-induction follow-up. (November 2004<br />
