6.010.1. Involuntary Past Rotarians<br />

Rotarians who involuntarily lose their membership in a club cannot join together and<br />

have any connection with RI. The Board understands the motive which may prompt past<br />

members of clubs to associate themselves in groups. However, the use of any name by<br />

an organization which would indicate a connection with RI is prohibited unless<br />

specifically provided for under the RI constitutional documents. (November 2004 Mtg.,<br />

6.010.2. Jurisdiction of RI Board in Club Dispute<br />

A dispute between a former Rotarian and the Rotary club in which he or she formerly<br />

held membership is a matter that is not within the jurisdiction of the RI Board, with the<br />

exception of matters submitted to the general secretary under the provisions of RI Bylaws<br />

6.020. Involvement of Spouses and Other Family Members of Rotarians<br />

1. Clubs and districts are encouraged to plan and implement service projects in such a manner<br />

that the spouses and other family members of Rotarians can easily participate;<br />

2. Clubs and districts are encouraged to organize educational, service, and fellowship programs<br />

and events in such a manner that the spouses and other family members of Rotarians can<br />

attend and participate;<br />

3. The general secretary and relevant RI committees are requested to organize the appropriate RI<br />

meetings, such as the convention, International Institutes, and presidential conferences, in<br />

such a manner as to encourage the registration and participation of the spouses and other<br />

family members of Rotarians in such meetings;<br />

4. To serve as a model for the broad participation of the spouses and other family members of<br />

Rotarians in such Rotary projects, programs, and events,
