17.060.3. Club and District Activities Expenses<br />

In addition to the official activities of RI within the district, there may be special club or<br />

district activities or functions which require or encourage the participation or attendance<br />

of the governor. The expenses associated with these additional activities are expenses<br />

incurred by the governor, club or district itself.<br />

All expenses for special Rotary club or district activities or functions are the<br />

17.060.4. Governor’s Oversight of Club Finances<br />

Governors should emphasize the businesslike handling of club funds during their official<br />

visits. The businesslike handling of club funds calls for a counter signature on<br />

17.070.1 District Publications<br />

Rotary district publications exist to advance the object of Rotary in all its aspects. Rotary<br />

district publication shall meet the following criteria:<br />

1) The publication serves one district<br />

2) All aspects of the publication must be under the direct supervision of the governor<br />

3) The governor, together with any Rotarian appointed to act as editor, shall be<br />

responsible for the editorial content of the district publication and it shall be in harmony<br />

with RI policy<br />

4) In addition to news of a local or district nature, the publication shall carry information<br />

about RI and shall present such information and specific text as the president may request<br />

17.070.2. District Promotion of Rotary Activities<br />

Districts are encouraged to allocate an appropriate portion of the district’s budget<br />

annually for the purpose of increasing public awareness of club and district Rotary<br />

activities within the district. Districts should consider engaging local public relations<br />

consultants, at no cost to RI, to assist clubs within the district in developing and
