43.100. Member Sponsor and Retention Recognition<br />

The RI Board has adopted the Member Sponsor and Retention Recognition program supporting<br />

both recruitment and retention. Both a certificate and a membership sponsor pin shall be<br />

awarded. The Rotary club president, in conjunction with the district governor if appropriate,<br />

shall decide who is to be recognized.<br />

A Rotarian would qualify for recognition as follows:<br />

A Rotarian sponsoring five members (in any club) with four of them remaining active after two<br />

(2) years<br />

Recognition: certificate, bronze pin<br />

A Rotarian sponsoring 10 members (in any club) with eight of them remaining active after four<br />

years<br />

Recognition: certificate, silver pin<br />

A Rotarian sponsoring 25 members (in any club) with 20 remaining active after six years<br />

Recognition: certificate, gold pin<br />

Certificates are provided by RI. New member sponsor pins are purchased through an RI licensed<br />

vendor. The gold level recognition pin may be presented at a district conference or, in the case<br />

of a past district governor, at a Rotary Institute. (June 2010 Mtg., Bd. Dec. 182)<br />

43.110. Rotarian Spouse/Partner Service Award<br />

The purpose of this award is to recognize spouses and partners of Rotarians who have<br />

demonstrated exemplary humanitarian service through Rotary.<br />

Eligibility<br />

Any non-Rotarian spouse or partner of an active Rotarian in good standing may be nominated.<br />

An individual may only receive the award once.<br />

Spouses and partners of current RI officers, immediate past district governors, current directors,<br />

current trustees and the RI president are ineligible for this award.<br />

It is not possible to nominate one’s own spouse or partner for the award. In addition, the<br />

nominee may not be a lineal descendant (child or grandchild), a spouse or partner of a lineal<br />

descendant, or an ancestor (parent or grandparent) of the nominator.<br />

Criteria<br />

Candidates shall be considered based solely on the humanitarian service they have rendered<br />

through Rotary, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in<br />

helping others. Personal financial contributions to Rotary, its Foundation or any individual<br />

project are not relevant considerations for this award.
