57.020.2. Host Organization Advised of Guidelines<br />

Before selection of a venue, the potential host organization shall be advised of Rotary<br />

convention site guidelines and required to accept them in principle. (June 1998 Mtg., Bd.<br />

57.020.3. Relationship of the Host Organization to RI<br />

The host organization cooperates with the Board and the convention committee to assist<br />

with the convention program and to provide hospitality for attendees. The general<br />

secretary, acting through the convention manager, serves as liaison between the host<br />

organization and the convention committee and Board. The general secretary, who is<br />

responsible for the operational aspects of Convention management, fulfills these<br />

responsibilities through the convention manager with the advice and cooperation of the<br />

host organization.<br />

The above statement shall be provided to all host organization committees for their<br />

information and guidance in connection with plans for the convention. (January 2012<br />

57.030. Guidelines<br />

A manual for the general guidance of the convention committee has been approved and is<br />

revised from time to time by the Board and distributed as detailed in the manual for conventions.<br />

Such manual includes Board policy governing Conventions. The general secretary is requested<br />

to bring to the Board's attention any necessary changes to the manual. Each Convention<br />

committee is likewise requested to include in its final report any recommended changes to the<br />
