The Newspaper of Burgos said: “Ciadoncha: the most intellectual town in the<br />

province (August 19, 1995). In this article, Roberto Estébanez praises the form to<br />

promote Culture, with a capital letter, and not just folklore. It has compliments for the<br />

Cultural Center of <strong>Santa</strong> Barbara and for the Youthful Associ<strong>at</strong>ion- “Los Raneros”.<br />

How proud all the neighbors must have been when such a respectable newspaper,<br />

such as this one, dedic<strong>at</strong>ed not one but many articles congr<strong>at</strong>ul<strong>at</strong>ing them for the cultural<br />

level th<strong>at</strong> they had. The young adults of this era truly demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed th<strong>at</strong> if big things can<br />

be done well if it is wanted. As one of the ex-presidents of the Center told me: “My idea<br />

was to remove the tradition th<strong>at</strong> all festivals could only have the three M’s (Mass, music,<br />

merienda (afternoon snack).” He wanted to add culture to it and his dream has come true<br />

some time ago. Some priv<strong>at</strong>e videos and other professionals, besides press reporters and<br />

the local television channel, gave faith to the persistence th<strong>at</strong> was put in planning and<br />

carrying out these activities. I do not doubt th<strong>at</strong> this work remained as proof of the<br />

Many families always remember with gre<strong>at</strong> pride the work th<strong>at</strong> they carried out<br />

during this time. Others will remember with gre<strong>at</strong> nostalgia their artistic particip<strong>at</strong>ion in<br />

the diverse present<strong>at</strong>ion th<strong>at</strong> was done in the church. Many will be the children th<strong>at</strong> will<br />
