ended in a three way split—Ann Balancie
and Marvin Brewton, Gulf States
Theatres and Louie Soust, Times-Picayune.
The winner of the contest held by Universal
was Karen Nicoll, United Artists . . . Joe
Mexic. Irene's husband, is back at work
after his recent operation.
Film festivals were scheduled back to
hack this month. "Images of Brazil IV." the
annual Brazilian festival at Loyola University,
will be followed by this city's eighth
annual French festival. A newsletter of the
Film Buffs Institute (Loyola's) advises that
"Semaine Universitaire" will take place
Wednesday (27) through May 1. consisting
of seven films to be shown at the Prvtani.i
Theatre, and a closing-night tribute at
Nunemaker Hall to Louise Malic who is
currently in town filming "Pretty Baby."
