ago was nearly indestructible;
so were
the Brenkert and
Monograph projectors.
The Pierce-Arrow
had two interest-

lg inputs. First, it typified a generous
mount of engineering, par excellence. In
'ther words, it was over designed along
.ith too many features. Second, it embodied
.ire craftsmanship and assembly, which
neans it was put together with great care
nd test run many times. The same can be
aid of the Brenkert and Motiograph proectors.

According to the author, this customdesigned
1936 Pierce-Arrow was a
powerfully built. 6.000-lh. engineering
dream, which also had an insatiable
appetite for gasoline.
But today, the Piercc-Arrow is nearly
impossible to service because repair parts
re difficult to obtain, if not impossible.
With today's fuel costs being what they
'are, the cost of operating it would be projhibitive,
since gas mileage was terrible. Fur-
|thermore. when new, the Pierce-Arrow cost
'ten times the price of a deluxe Ford. This,
by the way. just might explain why Ford
is Mill with us and Pierce-Arrow is not.
V-ain, the same can be said of the Brenkert
Motiograph.

True, they don't build them like they
