EAST LIBERTY<br />
STATION<br />
WALKING-SHED<br />
5 & 10 minute walks from <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>station</strong> platform, corrected for<br />
actual street patterns<br />
All <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> East Liberty business<br />
district sits within <strong>the</strong> <strong>station</strong><br />
pedestrian shed, with much <strong>of</strong><br />
it within a five minute walk from<br />
<strong>the</strong> platform. The ten minute<br />
walking-shed extends well into<br />
Shadyside and to <strong>the</strong> edges <strong>of</strong><br />
East <strong>liberty</strong> into Larimer. New<br />
development at Bakery Square<br />
sits just within <strong>the</strong> boundary on<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>east</strong>ern edge.<br />
The walking shed is made less<br />
efficient because <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> scale<br />
and geometry <strong>of</strong> some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
blocks around <strong>the</strong> <strong>station</strong>,<br />
especially to <strong>the</strong> <strong>east</strong>. In this<br />
area <strong>the</strong> lack <strong>of</strong> connections<br />
across <strong>the</strong> busway and rail line<br />
also limits <strong>the</strong> geography <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
pedestrian-shed.<br />
