EAST LIBERTY STATION<br />
IMPROVEMENTS<br />
The recommended strategy for redesigning<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>station</strong> moves <strong>the</strong> <strong>station</strong> platforms<br />
150’ to <strong>the</strong> <strong>east</strong> towards its most public<br />
street frontage along Shady and Penn<br />
Avenues. The front door <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>station</strong> is<br />
<strong>the</strong>n moved to this major intersection by<br />
repurposing <strong>the</strong> existing busway access<br />
ramp into a new ADA accessible route to<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>station</strong> from a new <strong>station</strong> entry plaza.<br />
In addition a single new pedestrian bridge<br />
is created that connects <strong>the</strong> intersection <strong>of</strong><br />
Shady and Ellsworth Avenues<br />
