The Associate of Science Degree in Physical Science offers a flexible, broad-based, and interdisciplinary approach<br />

directed toward and understanding of our physical world. Students who contemplate transfer to a university<br />

Bachelor of Science program and who envision themselves a teacher or professional in the sciences will find the<br />

Physical Science Degree especially valuable.<br />

Beyond the required core courses, the degree program offers students a choice of two options designed to emphasize<br />

a student’s particular interest and transfer desires: 1) a chemistry foundation, or 2) a physics foundation.<br />

Associate in Science Degree Requirements<br />

1) Complete Major Requirements and Major Electives (if applicable), as outlined above.<br />

2) Complete FRC General Education (GE) requirements.<br />

3) Complete electives so that major units, plus GE units, plus elective units, total sixty (60) units or higher.<br />

Program Narrative:<br />

The program will introduce students to a wide spectrum of college mathematics and science courses designed to<br />

provide a solid foundation, as well as the core requirements for transfer. Completion of the Physical Science Program<br />

at <strong>Feather</strong> <strong>River</strong> <strong>College</strong> will demonstrate commitment to the field, as well as provide comprehensive preparation for<br />

upper division work of science and attainment of a degree supportive of attempts to gain entry-level employment<br />

or advancement.<br />
