Admission Requirements and Procedures<br />
Scholastic Honors<br />
<strong>Feather</strong> <strong>River</strong> <strong>College</strong> recognizes Academic Honors for each semester and annually acknowledges those who graduate<br />
with honors at the graduation ceremony. In order to be eligible for the Honors List a student must earn a grade<br />
point average of 3.2, or higher, in one semester where 12 or more units are courses evaluated with letter grades.<br />
Students who have completed all graduation requirements and have achieved a specified cumulative grade point<br />
average (GPA), which includes a minimum of 48 units in courses evaluated with letter grades, may be awarded the<br />
following levels of honors:<br />
Honors - 3.2 to 3.399 GPA • High Honors - 3.4 to 3.599 GPA • Highest Honors - 3.6 to 4.0 GPA<br />
STUDenT reCORDS<br />
All student records at <strong>Feather</strong> <strong>River</strong> <strong>College</strong> are maintained in the Admissions and Records Office in accordance with<br />
the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. Copies of the Act are available to students in<br />
the Admissions and Records Office. All rights apply equally to currently enrolled and former students.<br />
Right to Review and Challenge<br />
Present and former FRC students have the right to inspect, review and challenge the contents of all educational<br />
records related to them. Students who wish to inspect or challenge their records must make a request in writing to<br />
the Chief Instructional Officer.<br />
Privacy Rights of Students<br />
Education records will not be released to any individual or agency without the written consent of the student, with<br />
the following exceptions:<br />
• A student’s records are open to college employees acting in the course of their duties and to state and federal<br />
officials as defined in Section 54618 of the California Administrative Code.<br />
• The college may grant access to individual student records for emergency purposes and for court orders as<br />
permitted in Sections 54620 and 54622 of the California Administrative Code.<br />
• The college may release certain “directory information” unless the student informs the Admissions and Records<br />
Office within 10 days after courses begin that certain, or all of such, information cannot be released without<br />
the student’s consent.<br />
