Each course counted toward the unit requirement of<br />

a major must be completed with a “C” grade or better.<br />

Certificates of Specialization and Achievement:<br />

Generally, a Certificate of Specialization is 17 units or less,<br />

while a Certificate of Achievement is 18 units or more.<br />

No more than 50% of certificate’s units may be taken at<br />

another college.<br />

Certificates are departmental awards. Therefore, faculty<br />

advisors will approve petitions to complete certificates.<br />

Receiving a certificate does not imply that a graduation<br />

requirement has been met.<br />

Only Certificates of Achievement are posted to a student’s<br />

transcript.<br />

Certificates will be mailed at the end of the semester during which they were completed.<br />

Student must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 for both Certificates of Achievement and<br />

Certificates of Specialization.<br />

Transfer:<br />

If you are planning on transferring to a four year school, work with your advisor to make sure you address any general<br />

education requirements that you may wish to transfer from <strong>Feather</strong> <strong>River</strong> <strong>College</strong>. (Please see the IGETC or UC or<br />

UNR General Ed transfer sheets.)included in the catalog but may change slightly.<br />
