All life from the beginning of time has been sustained by eating the fresh<br />

raw natural foods from the natural environment.<br />

Natural real foods are the foods that are inextricably linked to the life<br />

they support. <strong>The</strong>re are subtleties in an apple, a carrot, a filet mignon that<br />

we only begin to understand. A simple potato contains over 150 chemically<br />

distinct entities, not just starch. 1 <strong>The</strong> modern processed diet is the<br />

“new guy on the block” and certainly cannot lay claim to being true food.<br />

Life forms have spent eons adapting to natural foods, thriving on their<br />

nutrients and developing protective mechanisms against toxins. To suddenly<br />

consume the new modern processed concoctions presents to the<br />

body new chemicals, toxins and altered nutrients to which it has not had<br />

time to adapt. We, and our pets, are therefore part of a giant experiment,<br />

the results of which perhaps only our grandchildren will fully know.<br />

Evidence demonstrating the superiority of the natural archetypal diet<br />

over the modern, purified, fractionated, processed fare is compelling. For<br />

example, studies by Dr. Pottenger over 50 years ago showed the<br />
