Program Description<br />
The Occupational Health <strong>and</strong> Safety concentration prepares individuals<br />
who make the workplace safer <strong>and</strong> healthier by identifying potential<br />
job-related hazards <strong>and</strong> possible ways to address them through<br />
engineering solutions, administrative practices <strong>and</strong> the training <strong>and</strong><br />
education of workers in safet <strong>and</strong> healthy work practices.<br />
Program Educational Outcomes<br />
Upon completion of the Concentration in Occupational Health <strong>and</strong><br />
Safety (OHS), the graduate is prepared to:<br />
1. Demonstrate knowledge of applied mathematics, sciences,<br />
<strong>and</strong> related topics relevant to the field.<br />
2. Demonostration knowledge of conducting experiments that<br />
apply to the OHS profession.<br />
3. Identify <strong>and</strong> formulate solutions to safety engineering problems<br />
as they apply to OHS.<br />
4. Participate in <strong>and</strong> function on teams.<br />
Students must earn a grade of C (not C-) or better in College Writing<br />
(ENG 101) <strong>and</strong> Business Communication (ENG 220) in order to meet<br />
the Degree requirements of this program.<br />
