Relationship or consultative selling will be<br />

emphasized as the most mod ern approach to<br />

sales. The principle tasks of Sales Management<br />

will be explored with an emphasis on how sales<br />

managers <strong>and</strong> sales people can most effectively<br />

work together.<br />

data storage, managing calendars, efficient inter-offi<br />

The course begins by dissecting the ele ments<br />

of the marketing mix-product, price, promotion<br />

student. Topics include segmentation, distribution,<br />

consumer behavior, etc. Different aspects<br />

of market ing-product vs. service <strong>and</strong> wholesale<br />

vs. retail vs. direct <strong>and</strong> industrial marketing, will<br />

also be explored.<br />

This is a computer-based <strong>and</strong> case study course.<br />

It is designed to introduce students to various<br />

aspects of Electronic Commerce. E-Commerce<br />

is doing business electronically. It will include<br />

business strate gies for selling <strong>and</strong> marketing on<br />

the Web, online auctions, virtual communities,<br />

legal, ethical <strong>and</strong> tax issues, supply-chain management,<br />

payment systems, security, <strong>and</strong> web<br />

server <strong>and</strong> e-commerce hardware <strong>and</strong> software.<br />

Real company cases include Amazon.com, Harley-Davidson,<br />

Nissan.com <strong>and</strong> Oxfam. Included<br />

in class sessions will be “h<strong>and</strong>s on” access to<br />

the World Wide Web.<br />

This is an introductory course in electronic keyboarding<br />

designed to present <strong>and</strong> develop basic<br />

keyboarding skills including speed, accuracy<br />

completing this course will be expected to<br />

prepare doc uments <strong>and</strong> correspondence quickly,<br />

with a high degree of accuracy <strong>and</strong> will be<br />

judged using professional offi ce st<strong>and</strong>ards. This<br />

course will use IBM compatible computers <strong>and</strong> a<br />

variety of instructional software pro grams. BCA<br />

101 will prepare individuals for Business <strong>and</strong><br />

Computer Applications <strong>and</strong> a variety of other<br />

programs requiring keyboarding skills.<br />

This is an introductory computer course that is<br />

structured to familiarize the student with usage<br />

of computers as a tool for busi ness <strong>and</strong> industry.<br />

Taking a h<strong>and</strong>s-on approach, students will<br />

become skilled in the use of Windows XP <strong>and</strong><br />

Microsoft Office 2007. These competencies include<br />

the operation of word processing, spreadsheets,<br />

database <strong>and</strong> presentation soft ware.<br />

All learning will be in a lab environ ment where<br />

students will directly apply instructions using<br />

individual computers. Prerequisite: Students<br />

should be familiar with basic mouse <strong>and</strong> keyboard<br />

operation prior to registration.<br />

BCA 121 Word Processing<br />
