PROCEDURE FOR BONDING IMPROVEMENTSBond Required:When developer wishes to record Subdivision Plat and PublicImprovements are incomplete or have not been accepted bythe <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kernersville</strong>.Procedures:Step 1- Developer(s) must contact Planning Department andinform them <strong>of</strong> their desire to Plat. Developer(s) must providecopy <strong>of</strong> the plat that will be submitted.Note: Planning Dept will complete Section 1 <strong>of</strong> the SuretyGuarantee Worksheet and submit to Public Works for CostEstimateStep 2- Public Works will prepare estimate for all remainingimprovements; including, Public Works, City/County Utilitiesand others as needed. Public Works will contact Developer tosubmit Pro<strong>of</strong>-<strong>of</strong>-Payment Documents for all material suppliersand contractors that have performed work to date.Note: Public Works will complete Section 2 <strong>of</strong> the GuaranteeWorksheet and submit to the <strong>Town</strong> Manager.Step 3 – <strong>Town</strong> Manager will contact Developer and Bank tosubmit the appropriate type bond for the estimated amount.Note: Once the Bond has been submitted, the <strong>Town</strong> Managerwill complete Section 3 <strong>of</strong> the Surety Guarantee Worksheet andprovide copy to Planning and Public Works Department.Step 4 - Once the Planning and Public Works Departments havereceived the completed Surety Guarantee Worksheet. The platwill be signed for recording.AdditionalCoordination:The above procedures must also be followed for the submission<strong>of</strong> Landscape and Watershed Bonds.
