Vehicle Diagnostics Panel 1: Electric Vehicles- the Next Frontier for
Service Technicians
With record high prices for crude oil and at the pump, consumers are placing record num
orders for gas saving electric and hybrid electric vehicles. To provide fuel economy and
emissions to meet these consumer demands, OEM's are providing world-class hybrid el
vehicle system designs. Servicing high voltage battery packs, hybrid drive systems and
electronics is a change in technology for the vehicle technician and provides new approa
in vehicle service. This panel is comprised of experts in electric vehicle design and serv
They will be sharing solutions that have been created around an electric vehicle system
and also share their knowledge on how the servicing of the vehicle by the technician is b
handled. Each panel participant will first give a short presentation (15 minutes or less)
concerning the current conditions in their sector. The panel discussion will follow. A few
prepared questions will be presented to the panel by the moderator. After those questio
answered, the discussion is opened up for questions from the audience.
