UHF/700 MHz P<strong>25</strong> <strong>Radio</strong> Communications System<strong>Request</strong>ion <strong>for</strong> <strong>Proposals</strong><strong>Caroline</strong> <strong>County</strong>, <strong>Virginia</strong>F. It is anticipated that the simulcast and voting equipment shall be located at the<strong>County</strong>’s main tower site. The main tower site is located at 109 <strong>County</strong> Street,Bowling Green, VA 224273.1.4.2 Fixed Transmitter/Receiver EquipmentA. General:1. Repeaters and/or base station equipment shall be solid state in design andfunction with standard site conditions <strong>for</strong> temperature, altitude, andhumidity. Only linear repeaters are acceptable.2. Equipment shall have alarm interfaces to provide status to the NetworkManagement System.3. The units shall be as compact as possible, with mounting configurations <strong>for</strong>standard relay rack or cabinets.4. The units shall consist of modular components or Field Replaceable Units(FRU) allowing <strong>for</strong> in the field repairs whenever possible.B. Repeaters and/or base station equipment shall comply with Part 90 of the FCCRules and Regulations, as well as appropriate EIA and similar agency standardsand be FCC type accepted <strong>for</strong> the required UHF and 700 MHz frequency bandproposals.C. Prior to implementation, the SELECTED VENDOR shall per<strong>for</strong>m the followingstudies at each site:1. Intermodulation analysis – The SELECTED VENDOR shall considerequipment from all tenants located at the proposed site, per FCC licensedin<strong>for</strong>mation.2. Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) study (per latest revision of OETbulletin 65) – The SELECTED VENDOR shall consider equipment from alltenants located at the proposed site, per FCC licensed in<strong>for</strong>mation.D. The SELECTED VENDOR shall resolve all issues predicted during theintermodulation analysis and MPE studies. If an intermodulation problem isidentified following implementation, the SELECTED VENDOR shall resolve theissue without degrading system coverage or per<strong>for</strong>mance, <strong>for</strong> a period of up to12 months after final acceptance at no cost to the OWNER.May 27, 2011 Page 29 of 134
