In the case of multi-talkgroup transmit or talkgroup patch, the use of more thanone trunked repeater shall not be allowed; the talkgroups shall be merged onto asingle repeater in order to make the most efficient use of the repeaters.F. Dispatch consoles shall have the capability to patch two or more talkgroupstogether so users may communicate directly.G. Dispatch consoles shall have a minimum of eight separate patches.H. Dispatch consoles shall be capable of operating on all talkgroups available tosystem users.I. A control and indicator shall be provided allowing the dispatcher to simulselectmultiple talkgroups.J. Dispatch consoles shall have the ability to hear field units while dispatchoperators are transmitting.K. In the event that all resources are busy, a visual and audible alert will be initiatedat the dispatch consoles.5.3 Conventional RequirementsA. The consoles shall have the ability to enable or disable the repeat function of therepeaters utilized for interoperable communications. Control of these stationsshall be IP based and not circuit switched.B. Dispatch equipment shall include an instant transmit switch for each conventionalrepeater channel and/or base station.C. On conventional base station or repeater capable of operating on multiplefrequencies or modes, a control/indicator shall be provided that allows theselection of the desired transmit frequency or mode. A control / indicator shall beprovided allowing the operator to select multiple channels allowing the dispatcherthe ability to broadcast to several channels at once.D. Operators shall have the ability to patch two or more conventional repeatersand/or base stations together so users may communicate directly.
