The <strong>County</strong> prefers DC rectifiers and batteries; however, REPONDENTS maypropose either an AC powered site with an uninterruptable power supply or a DCpower supply/rectifiers and batteries.6.5.1 Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)A. The SELECTED VENDOR shall provide single phase, online, double conversion,static type, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) at each shelter with the followingfeatures:1. Surge suppression2. Input harmonics reduction3. Rectifier / charger4. Inverter5. Static bypass transfer switch6. Battery and battery disconnect device7. Internal maintenance bypass / isolation switch8. Output isolation trans<strong>for</strong>mer9. Remote UPS monitoring provisions10. Battery monitoring11. Remote monitoringB. SELECTED VENDOR shall per<strong>for</strong>m electrical loading analysis <strong>for</strong> shelterequipment, excluding HVAC subsystems, during preliminary design to verify UPSsize required. All electrical loading calculations shall include a <strong>25</strong>% expansionfactor, and all assumptions regarding power consumption and duty factor shall bethoroughly explained.C.
