UHF/700 MHz P25 Radio Communications SystemRequestion for ProposalsCaroline County, Virginia3. A heavy duty, lead acid 12 VDC battery shall be provided by the generatorset manufacturer. The generator set shall have a frame suitable formounting the battery and include all connecting battery cables.6.4.2 Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)A. The automatic transfer switch shall be compatible with the generator set so as tomaintain system compatibility and local service responsibility for the completeemergency power system.B. Representative production samples of the transfer switch supplied shall havedemonstrated through tests the ability to withstand at least 10,000 mechanicaloperation cycles. One operation cycle is defined as the electrically operatedtransfer from normal to emergency and back to normal.C. Wiring must comply with NEC table 373-6(b). The manufacturer shall furnishschematic and wiring diagrams for the particular automatic transfer switch and atypical wiring diagram for the entire system.D. Ratings and Performance:1. The ATS shall be adequately sized to match the generator and shelterelectrical systems.2. The automatic transfer switch shall be a 2-pole design rated for 600 VAC200 amps continuous operation in ambient temperatures of -20 degreesFahrenheit (-30 degrees Celsius) to +140 degrees Fahrenheit (+60 degreesCelsius).3. The operating mechanism will be a single operating coil design, electricallyoperated and mechanically held in position.4. A provision will be supplied to allow manual operation of the switch in theevent of logic or electrical coil failure.E. Controls:1. A solid state under-voltage sensor shall monitor all phases of the normalsource and provide adjustable ranges for field adjustments for specificapplication needs.a.
