UHF/700 MHz P<strong>25</strong> <strong>Radio</strong> Communications System<strong>Request</strong>ion <strong>for</strong> <strong>Proposals</strong><strong>Caroline</strong> <strong>County</strong>, <strong>Virginia</strong>K. Wiring methods:1. All wiring noted on the site drawings or otherwise included by theSELECTED VENDOR shall be installed in conduit or ductwork. Where noprotection method is specified, conduit shall be used.2. All conduits and ducts shall be securely surface mounted and supported byapproved clamps, brackets, or straps as applicable and held in place withproperly selected screws. No wiring shall be imbedded inside any walls,floor or ceiling. Entrance power, outside light, air conditioning outlet andTelco are the only wiring that may penetrate shelter walls or floor.3. All wire raceway, conduit, etc., is to be mechanically joined and secured.4. Flexible steel conduit or armored cable shall protect wiring connected tomotors, fans, etc., and other short runs where rigid conduit is not practical.5. Unless otherwise specified, all power wiring shall be a minimum 12 AWGsize solid copper conductors with insulation rated <strong>for</strong> 600 Volts alternatingcurrent (AC).L. Light fixtures:1. Ceiling mounted four-foot fluorescent light fixtures (two 40 watt bulbs perfixture) with RFI ballasts shall be supplied <strong>for</strong> the equipment shelters. Asufficient quantity of light fixtures shall be supplied to provide a uni<strong>for</strong>m lightlevel throughout the building of 150 foot candles at four feet above the floor.2. Light fixtures shall be fed as a gang from a common breaker and controlledby an on/off switch near the door.M. Outdoor lighting:1. An exterior fluorescent wall mounted light shall be mounted over the frontentrance of the shelter.2. The exterior lighting system shall be fed from a separate, appropriatelyrated breaker and light switch by the door.N. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC):1. RESPONDENT shall propose dual AC units with lead-lag controller andadjustable, digital industrial quality thermostat. Each AC unit shall be sizedMay 27, 2011 Page 55 of 134
