IBM ConfidentialYou can use the Tivoli Storage Manager administrative comm<strong>and</strong>s queryschedule <strong>and</strong> query association to confirm that the schedule <strong>and</strong> associationare set correctly.On the Exchange ServerThis section of the procedure assumes the following environment:v The Tivoli Storage Manager Backup-Archive client is installed on the ExchangeServer in the d:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient directory.v Data Protection for Exchange is installed on the Exchange Server in thed:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\TDPExchange directory.v The communication options in the dsm.opt option files located in thesedirectories point to the Tivoli Storage Manager server to which the Exchangestorage groups are to be backed up.The options file that is defined for Data Protection for Exchange is used by thescheduler when validating the node <strong>and</strong> password. The options file is also usedwhen contacting the Tivoli Storage Manager server for schedule information.If this message displays:A communications error occurred connecting tothe Tivoli Storage Manager ServerThen:1. make sure the communication options in the dsm.opt file points to thecorrect Tivoli Storage Manager server.2. make sure the Tivoli Storage Manager server is running.Perform the following steps on the Exchange Server:1. Login using a Windows account that has administrative privileges.2. Open a Windows comm<strong>and</strong> prompt window.3. In the window, issue the following comm<strong>and</strong>:cd /d d:\"Program Files"\Tivoli\TSM\baclientYou must place quotation marks around the section of a directory pathnamethat contains a space (for example: d:\"Program Files"\Tivoli\TSM\baclient.You can also use the short form of a pathname by placing a tilde (~) <strong>and</strong>unique identifier after the first six characters in the pathname. An example ofthe short form of the pathname is shown below:d:\Progra~1\Tivoli\TSM\baclientNote: If a Tivoli Storage Manager scheduler is already installed on yourmachine (for the regular backups of the Windows system), you need to installanother scheduler (with a unique name) to run the schedules defined for DataProtection for Exchange. The Tivoli Storage Manager scheduler must have adifferent node name from the regular Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archiveclient.4. In the window, issue the following comm<strong>and</strong>:dsmcutil inst /name:"Data Protection for Exchange Scheduler"/node:mynode /password:mypassword /autostart:yes/clientdir:"d:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient"/optfile:"d:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\TDPExchange\dsm.opt"/startnow:noChapter 6.
