Using the Graphical User Interface (GUI)This section provides information on how to use the Data Protection for ExchangeGUI to perform the following:v Perform a Legacy backup of Exchange storage groups and transaction logs,including Exchange Site Replication Service (SRS) databases.v Perform a VSS Backup of Exchange storage groups and transaction logs.v Perform a VSS Off-loaded backup of Exchange storage groups and transactionlogs.v Restore Exchange storage groups and transaction logs.v Restore the SRS database.v Modify the Data Protection for Exchange configuration.v Select short cuts from the Data Protection for Exchange Toolbar.Note: The term Tree View refers to the directory tree view in the left frame of abackup or restore window. If a configuration file is not specified, the tdpexc.cfg file is used. If noconfiguration file is found, a default file is created which contains all thedefault settings for the parameters. A different configuration file can bespecified by invoking the GUI from the command line with the /configfileparameter.Clicking this menu item displays the Data Protection for Exchange Settingsdialog with the following five tabs and their settings:v General TabTemporary Log Restore PathEnter the default temporary path to use when restoring logs and49
