If they have not,you will be prompted to stop them or cancel the restore. After a restore, you cancheck the Mount Databases After Restore option, or mount them from outsideData Protection for Exchange.GUITasksHow to perform a Legacy Backup||||||||||||In order to perform backup tasks, Data Protection for Exchange must be operatingin an account that meets these two conditions:1. The account must be delegated with the appropriate privilege:v Exchange Server 2003: Exchange Administrator rolev Exchange Server 2007: membership in the Exchange OrganizationAdministrators group2. The account must be a member of the local Administrators group for themachine on which the Exchange server is running.This procedure assumes that Data Protection for Exchange <strong>and</strong> the Tivoli StorageManager server are properly configured in your environment. See Chapter 3,“Configuring Data Protection for Exchange,” on page 31 for detailed instructionson how to configure these applications.Follow these steps to perform a Legacy backup of your data:1. Start the Data Protection for Exchange GUI. If you are running Data Protectionfor Exchange in a MSCS or VCS:Note:a. If you are backing up the Site Replication Service (SRS), you must initializethe SRS database through the cluster administrator. The SRS must berunning in order to be backed up.b. You MUST invoke the GUI with the /excserver parameter from the DataProtection for Exchange comm<strong>and</strong> line.2. From the Tree View, select one or more storage groups to back up. You can alsoselect one or more storage groups to back up in the List View. Note that youcannot back up more than one application (SRS, IS) in a single operation.3. In the Backup Options section of the Backup window, select the Legacy Backupmethod.||||Note: You can specify that Data Protection for Exchange retry a failed backupby setting the Retries for Legacy Backup parameter in the Data Protection forExchange Settings window. From the File Menu, click on Edit -> Configuration-> General Tab.4. Specify the type of backup to perform with the Backup Type drop-down menu.Note that you cannot perform a database copy of an SRS database.5.
