IBM ConfidentialNote the following characteristics of Data Protection for Exchange configurationparameters:v The value of a configuration parameter specified on a comm<strong>and</strong> line invocationoverrides (but does not change) the value of the configuration parameterspecified in the Data Protection for Exchange configuration file.v During a comm<strong>and</strong> line invocation that does not specify an overriding value fora configuration file parameter, the values in the default Data Protection forExchange configuration file (tdpexc.cfg) are used.See “Set comm<strong>and</strong>” on page 106 for descriptions of available configurationparameters.Set policy for VSS backups by specifying the VSSPOLICY statement in your DataProtection for Exchange configuration file. Note that you must specify thisstatement manually. You cannot specify it using the tdpexcc set comm<strong>and</strong> or theConfiguration task in the Edit Menu of the Data Protection for Exchange GUI.VSSPOLICY statements are processed from the bottom up <strong>and</strong> processing stops atthe first match. To ensure that more specific specifications are processed at all, themore general specification should be listed before the more specific ones, so as tobe processed after the more specific specifications. Otherwise, the more generalspecification will match the target before the more specific specifications are seen.Specify the following information in the VSSPOLICY statement:VSSPOLICY "" The statement contains the following values:v Name of the Exchange Server or wildcard character: *v "" Name of storage group or wildcard character: *v Backup type: FULL or COPY or wildcard character: *v Backup destination: TSM or LOCAL or wildcard character: *v Management Class name.
