Piloting OSS The kernel component <strong>of</strong> all Novell servers was upgraded<br />

time and within budget. This solution also affords <strong>the</strong> DCS<br />

Actual Performance<br />

DCS represented during <strong>the</strong> ICPA and IPCA Conferences<br />

that <strong>to</strong>ok place in Oc<strong>to</strong>ber and November 2007.<br />

Attendance <strong>of</strong> UN HIV Workshop, Vienna, Austria:19<br />

-21 February 2008 DCS had <strong>the</strong> opportunity <strong>to</strong><br />

benchmark with international experts in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> HIV<br />

and AIDS, and lessons learnt will be ploughed back<br />

in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> De<strong>part</strong>ment. DCS was represented at <strong>the</strong><br />

SADC Games that <strong>to</strong>ok place in Zimbabwe from 7-8<br />

February 2008.<br />

A delegation led by <strong>the</strong> National Commissioner<br />

attended <strong>the</strong> SADC meeting in Angola from 12 -15<br />

March 2008.<br />

<strong>As</strong>sisted Swaziland in preparing for <strong>the</strong> meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>As</strong>sociation <strong>of</strong> Correctional Services <strong>of</strong> Africa (ACSA).<br />

Finalised <strong>the</strong> ACSA constitution and <strong>the</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> reference<br />

for financial control and <strong>the</strong> appointment <strong>of</strong> an<br />

audi<strong>to</strong>r and agreed on <strong>the</strong> possible host for <strong>the</strong> launch<br />

<strong>of</strong> ACSA.<br />

MOU signed with Lesotho.<br />

The De<strong>part</strong>ment concluded an agreement with<br />

Lesotho. Implementation <strong>of</strong> agreement with Zambia<br />

has started and agreement with Rwanda is being<br />

concluded.<br />

The Direc<strong>to</strong>rate International Relations management <strong>to</strong><br />

coordinate twenty (20) outgoing and ten (10) incoming<br />

visits.
