CYLINDER / PISTONCYLINDERCYLINDERREMOVAL● Remove the engine from the engine.● Remove the cylinder head cover.● Remove the cam shaft holder● Remove the cylinder head.● Remove the cam chain guide from the cylinder.● Remove the cylinderCAM SHAFT HOLDER● Remove the gasket and dowel pin.● Remove any adhering gasket material from thecylinder/ head mating surface.NOTE•Take care not to damage the cylinder matingsurface.CAK CHAINCYLINDER GAUGEINSPECTION● Measure and record the cylinder inner diameter atthree levels in both an X and Y axis.● Take the maximum reading to determine the cylinderwear.SERVICE LIMIT : 39.04 MM● Measure the piston outer diameter.● Calculate the piston-to-cylinder clearance. Take themaximum reading to determine the clearance.SERVICE LIMIT : 0.08 MMTOPMIDDLEYX● Calculate the cylinder for out-of round at three levelsin an X and Y axis. Take the maximum reading todetermine the out-of-round.● Calculate the cylinder for taper at three levels in Xand Y axis. Take the maximum reading to determinethe taper,● If any of the cylinder measurements exceed theservice limits, replace the cylinder.LOWSERVICE LIMIT: OUT-OF-ROUND :0.05MMTAPER: 0.05MM
