CHARGING SYSTEMBATTERY TERMINALCAUTION•Current flow larger than the range selected mayblow out the fuse in the tester.•While measuring current, do not turn the ignitionon. A sudden surge of current may blow out thefuse in the tester.VOLT METERAM METERMAIN FUSETERMINALCHARGING VOLTAGE INSPECTIONCAUTION•Be sure that the battery is fully charged beforeperforming this test. The amount of current flowmay change abruptly if not sufficiently charged.Use a battery whose voltage between its terminalsis 12.6~13.0V.•When engine is started using the starter motor, alarge amount of current may flow from the batterytemporarily. Use the kick starter to start the engine.•If the probes are connected in reverse order, theregistered current flow direction when chargingand discharging the battery will be reversed aswell.MAIN FUSE● Connect a tester between the battery terminals.● Remove the main fuse and connect an ampere meterbetween the terminals.● Connect a RPM tester to the high-tension cord.● Gradually increase the engine speed and measure thecharging voltage and charging current.CHARGING CURRENT: 2.0~2.5A/3,000RPMCONTROL VOLTAGE: 14.50.5V/5,000 RPMCAUTION•Take precaution not to control the tester or wiringwhen flowing the current.•It can cause the damage for the other parts byoverflowing the current.● Install in the reverse order of removal.A.C GENERATOR COUPLERA.C GENERATORINSPECTION● Disconnect the coupler of the A.C generator cord.
