She has been rewarded as well as punishedfor her literary work; some of her books have been banned, and in response she hasburnt her own books and published some works that were “locked” and written inciphers, or encoded. She was both sentenced to parole and required to pay extremelyhigh damages. Because she was unable to pay the damages, the court ordered herproperty seized.318
