Such a product can never berealized through the so-called literal or word-for-wordapproach, but rather through a creativity-oriented,hermeneutic/manipulative one which has prompted twostrategies for the rendition of English/ Arabic prepositions. Thefirst strategy is that of lexicalization, the second ofmodalization; through the former, the SL prepositions arelexicalized in the TL, through the latter they are modalizedwhether verbally or non-verbally. The manipulation of the two-strategies require a rather exceptional translation competencewhich capacitates the translator to perform a multiple task: as aST decoder/appreciator or a critic and as a TT encoder/creatorwho caters not only for the transference of the semantic valuesbut of the aesthetic values as well. Exemplification has verifiedthe two strategies which serve to produce an accurate, vivid, creative and effective translation.
