Financial year significant eventsOn 13 January 2012, the M6 Group sold its 9.1% equity investment in the US film production anddistribution company Summit Entertainment, within the framework of the acquisition of the studio’s entireshare capital by Lions Gate. The impacts of this transaction on the Group’s 2012 consolidated financialstatements are set out in Note 17.On 31 October 2012, M6 Web acquired the websites owned by Tom’s Games (jeuxvideoPC.com andjeuxvideo-flash.com). Details of this acquisition and impacts on the Group’s consolidated financialstatements at 31 December 2012 are specified in Note 6.On 12 December 2012, M6 Group launched the 6ter TV network on channel 22 of Free-to-Air DTT. Thisnew channel, operated by M6 Génération, broadcasts a varied range of family-friendly programmes. It isalready included in internet access providers’ packages and its rollout to DTT will be completed in June2015. M6 Génération is a fully-consolidated subsidiary.2. Company informationThe consolidated financial statements at 31 December 2012 of the Group of which Métropole Télévisionis the parent company (the Group) were approved by the Executive Board on 18 February 2013 andreviewed by the Supervisory Board on 19 February 2013. They will be submitted for approval to the nextAnnual General Meeting on 13 May 2013.Métropole Télévision is a public limited company governed by an Executive Board and a SupervisoryBoard, registered at 89, avenue Charles-de-Gaulle, Neuilly sur Seine in France. Its shares trade oncompartment A of the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange (code ISIN FR0000053225). The Company is fullyconsolidated into the RTL Group, which is listed on the Brussels and Luxembourg stock exchanges.3. Preparation and presentation of the consolidated financialstatements3.1. Accounting frameworkThe consolidated financial statements at 31 December 2012 have been prepared in accordance with theIAS/IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) in force within the European Union at that date.They are presented with comparative figures for 2011 prepared under the same framework.The IFRS standards adopted by the European Union at 31 December 2012 are available in the sectionIAS/IFRS, SIC and IFRIC standards and interpretations adopted by the Commission on the followingwebsite: http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/accounting/ias/index_en.htm.In relation to texts having an impact on M6 Group’s consolidated financial statements, there were nodifferences between the texts approved by the European Union and the standards and interpretationspublished by the IASB.PRINCIRINCIPLES APPLIEDThe principles applied for the establishment of these financial statements result from the application of:- all standards and interpretations adopted by the European Union, the application of which ismandatory for financial years starting on or after 1 January 2012;- options retained and exemptions used.M6 GROUP - 2012 REGISTRATION DOCUMENT - 157
