SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITYshould not be perceived as continuous, omnipresent or presented as <strong>the</strong> sole solution <strong>to</strong> conflicts.The Company complies with <strong>the</strong> classification of programmes in accordance with five degrees ofappreciation of <strong>the</strong>ir acceptability in light of child and teenage protection and applies <strong>the</strong> signallingcode accordingly.In relation <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> honesty of information and programmes- The honesty requirement applies <strong>to</strong> all programmes. The Company verifies <strong>the</strong> validity and sources ofinformation. Its origin must be specified as often as possible. Uncertain information must be qualified.It should be impossible <strong>to</strong> identify people and places, except where <strong>the</strong> individuals involved havegiven <strong>the</strong>ir consent before <strong>the</strong> programme is broadcast.- When <strong>the</strong> Company presents on air, outside advertising slots, audiovisual communication serviceediting or distribution activities developed by a legal entity with which it has a significant capitalrelationship, it should strive <strong>to</strong> give a strictly informative character <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> presentation, in particular bymoderating <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>ne and restraining <strong>the</strong> significance attached <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>pic. It should point out <strong>the</strong>nature of this relationship <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> audience on this occasion.In relation <strong>to</strong> defending and illustrating <strong>the</strong> French language- The Company ensures <strong>the</strong> correct use of <strong>the</strong> French language in its programmes, as well as inadaptation, dubbing and subtitling of foreign programmes. The Company must strive <strong>to</strong> use French in<strong>the</strong> titles of its programmes. A French language consultant must be appointed by <strong>the</strong> channel.O<strong>the</strong>r Group channels must also abide by a number of regula<strong>to</strong>ry and conventional obligations, both of aquantitative and qualitative nature.7.2.1.2. Compliance of advertisementsThe Group’s advertising agency, <strong>M6</strong> Publicité, has entrusted ARPP (Au<strong>to</strong>rité de régulation professionnellede la publicité), by way of an interprofessional agreement, with a consulting role in guaranteeing <strong>the</strong>compliance of advertisements with general audiovisual advertising and communication rules. The currentprocedure, at <strong>the</strong> expense of agencies and/or advertisers, provides for prior disclosure <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> ARPPbefore <strong>the</strong> first broadcast. This disclosure is given an order number that must imperatively becommunicated <strong>to</strong> <strong>M6</strong> Publicité before <strong>the</strong> broadcast.As mentioned in its General Terms and Conditions of Sales, <strong>M6</strong> Publicité reserves <strong>the</strong> right <strong>to</strong> refuse <strong>to</strong>broadcast or interrupt <strong>the</strong> broadcast of any advertisement, if it considers that it fails <strong>to</strong> comply with <strong>the</strong>laws, regulations and practices governing audiovisual advertising and communication, or if it is contrary <strong>to</strong><strong>the</strong> channels interests or those of its subsidiaries, or if <strong>the</strong> CSA subsequently deems that anadvertisement is non-compliant and forbids any fur<strong>the</strong>r broadcast and/or demands that <strong>the</strong> film iswithdrawn from air. The edi<strong>to</strong>rial quality and legal control aspects are managed by <strong>the</strong> agency’sadvertisement broadcast department.7.2.1.3. Sound level compliance of TV programmesThe <strong>M6</strong> Group pays particular care <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> comfort of viewers and complies with <strong>the</strong> provisions of DecreeNo. 92-280 of 27 March 1992, which notably made it compulsory for TV channels make <strong>the</strong> sound levelof programmes consistent with that of advertising breaks. The <strong>M6</strong> Group participated in <strong>the</strong> consultation,on which <strong>the</strong> CSA based its ruling No. 2011-29 of 19 July 2011 that enabled edi<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>to</strong> comply with <strong>the</strong>seprovisions by defining technical parameters relating <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> sound intensity of advertising breaks.7.2.2. Information programmes accessible e <strong>to</strong> all7.2.2.1. Encourage a better understanding of <strong>the</strong> worldThe <strong>M6</strong> Group seeks <strong>to</strong> deliver <strong>the</strong> most complete and most diverse information possible and, as statedin Article 33 of its agreement, expand its programming of magazines, <strong>document</strong>aries and information <strong>to</strong>provide a deeper knowledge and understanding of <strong>the</strong> contemporary world, by dealing with diversesubjects such as employment, integration, <strong>the</strong> economy, science, ecology, consumption, etc.254 - <strong>M6</strong> GROUP - <strong>2012</strong> REGISTRATION DOCUMENT
