PRAYERCreator and His creation. This Sound Currentis variously described by various sages. TheVedas speak of it as Sruti (that which is heard)the Upanishads describe it as Nad or Udgit(song of the other world). The Muslims callit as Bang-i-Asmani or Kalma. In Gurbani wehave references to Shabd and in the Gospel itis mentioned as the Word. The Zoroastrianscall it Sarosha and the French have given it thename of Elan-vital or life current.Once the consciousness takes root in thisSound Principle or Voice of the Silence, lifeeverlasting is assured to the spirit. There is noother way to God than this, and it can be reachedonly by means of Simran of God’s Names.“Knock and it shall be opened unto thee” is whatthe Gospel preached. Emerson calls it “tappinginside.” This knocking and tapping is possibleonly when through Simran the mind is stilledand the spirit is withdrawn and concentratedbefore the very door of God. This then is theway as ordained by God Himself; but no onecan find it without the grace of the Master Soul,an adept in the Science of Spirituality, not onlyin theory like Yog Valik, but in practice as welllike Ashtavakra, one who has transcended allthe planes (physical, subtle, causal and beyond)and holds commission from God to lead othersouls to Him.204
