WHAT PRAYER TO ASK DEFINED FROM GODAgain, all the gifts of the world are purelyephemeral. They are always in an unstable andchanging state. Nothing is permanent. Everythingis subject to decay and dissolution.Momentarily things appear and then recedeback into the Fullness,In the twinkling of an eye the world itselfsinks into the great deep. 71KABIRMidst the ever-changing phenomena of theworld, there is but one unchangeable permanenceand that is God and God-in-action (theHoly Spirit, Kalma, Naam or Word), responsiblefor the creation, sustenance and dissolution ofcountless universes. Why then should we notlong for, ask for and pray for that imperishablelife principle, so that we too may have “LifeEverlasting” and come to our eternal heritage, theeverlasting Godhood which is our birthright.Listen ye to the call of the hollow man, manifest Thyself, O Lord,Nanak has humbly reached Thy door, through the Grace of Thy devotee. 72GURU ARJANOur native home is in Sach Khand. Ages upon ageshave gone by since we parted from the Father, and we are still in exile in this world.75
