A cry from theA heart is always heard and attended to; buthow, and in what manner, depends on the Willof God.A prayer of a devotee never goes in vain. 21Whatever a devotee asks of Him, that cannotbut happen. 22He doth grant whatever is asked of Him,O Nanak! the words of a devotee prove truehere and hereafter. 23GURU ARJANIn the Sikh scriptures it is mentioned that theFather God ordained that He would freely givewhatsoever His children may ask of Him:The Ever-kind Father has pledged to fulfillwhat His children may desire. 24GURU ARJANThe Holy Koran likewise vouchsafes this veryidea when it states:God has said, call upon Me, and I shall acceptthy call.And again:O Rasul! whenever any person enquires ofMe, tell him that I reside in him and Ilisten to his prayers whatever the samemay be.22
