APPENDIX PRAYER B DEFINED — SIMRANby a Master Soul by means of the Sound Currentor Word.Another Saint, Bhika, says: “O Bhika, thereis no man starving in this world. Everybody hasa diamond of precious value within. They donot know how to withdraw from the body andconcentrate the sensory current and transcendthe lower chakras in the body (or just analyzeoneself from the body). That is why they feelhungry. They have the thing within them, butthey know not how to come out of the body tocontact it.”The Sound Current or Word is contactedthrough the medium of Simran, which withdrawsthe spirit current from the body. Whenthe current comes up to the seat of the soulin the waking state, only then it contacts theConscious Power working within throughoutthe whole creation. It will, therefore, appear thatSimran or the process of the sweet remembranceof the Word is the stepping stone to contactingthe Word within. The first step is, therefore, todo the Simran or repetition of the charged wordsgiven by a competent Master, and the second stepis, when the soul is withdrawn to <strong>its</strong> seat in thebody at back of the two eyes, it contacts the Wordwhich is called Naam, Shabd, Nad, Akash Bani,Kalma, Sarosha, etc. This Word has two phases:one is of Light and the other of Sound, which the227
