TIME PRAYER FOR DEFINED PRAYER15. Time for <strong>Prayer</strong>PRAYER needs no specific time nor any particularhour. In fact, one can pray withoutceasing. It is an ebullition of spirit and likea volcano may burst at any moment. <strong>Prayer</strong>should, however, be offered regularly at any timeduring the day or night. Early morning hoursand evening twilight hours are, of course, verycongenial and most suitable.At the ambrosial hour of the early dawn,Be ye in communion with the Divine Word,And meditate on His glory. 53GURU NANAKMost of us search for a time for prayer and unfortunatelyare so busy that in the end we find no timeat all. A prayer does not need any philosophicdissertation or elaborate arrangement. One hasjust in loving faith to express his inner urge inthe simplest words possible.A true prayer needs no particular time andplace. We have to sit quietly in the temple ofthe body, at the seat of the soul, and to gazein between the eyebrows and mentally repeatwhatever charged words have been given to usby the Master. That is more than enough of aprayer. But the trouble with us is that we do notknow how to pray. We may in a case like thissimply ask, “O Lord! teach us how to pray.” In53
