It introduces students to theexciting worlds of information management and informationtransfer, in both traditional and emerging venues. The B.S. inliberal studies with a concentration in library science servesas an excellent preparation for studying toward a master’sdegree in library setting (such as <strong>Clarion</strong>’s AmericanLibrary Association-accredited MSLS degree), which isthe recognized professional credential for the practice oflibrarianship.Required: LS 255, 257, 258, 356, 357, 358, 361, and 385. Aminimum of 39 credits must be at the 300-level or above.Liberal Studies, B.S.,Concentration in Sports Management ...... 72 creditsRequired: HPE 370, 380, 430, 440, MGMT 320, 430, and COOP447. One course from ECON 175, 211, or 212. A minimum of 39credits must be at the 300-level or above. Students enrolled in thisconcentration are not eligible to receive the Sport Managementminor.Liberal Studies, B.S.,Concentration in Athletic Coaching ........ 72 creditsRequired: HPE 333, 334, 406, 407, 408, 409, 440, and COOP444. Two courses from HPE 351, 352, or 354. A minimum of 39credits must be at the 300-level or above.Library ScienceLiberal arts students, regardless of their major, mayqualify as provisional librarians under the PennsylvaniaLibrary Code by successfully completing at least 12 libraryscience credits (semester hours).Making Connections ProgramThe Making Connections Program allows students toenroll concurrently in linked-pairs or three-course-clustersfocused on a common theme. Examples of themes fromprevious years include: “Beliefs, the Brain, and the Body,”and “Approaching the Year 2000.” Students enrolled inthe Making Connections Program find it helps them get toknow professors better and establish friendships and studygroups. The Making Connections courses meet graduationrequirements in general education applicable to all studentsno matter what their major.
