<strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong> of Pennsylvania 37Financial InformationGeneral InformationThe student is responsible to ensure all <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong>charges are paid or covered by financial aid by the beginningof each semester or session. Students with delinquent accountbalances will be charged a late fee and will not be permitted toregister for courses. Academic records (transcripts and diplomas)will be withheld until all charges have been paid in full. To avoidlate payment fees, all charges not covered by financial aid shouldbe paid by the start of the semester.Tuition is normally reviewed and set annually by the StateSystem of Higher Education Board of Governors; however,tuition is subject to change at any time by the board. Acomplete undergraduate tuition schedule is shown below.All fees appearing on the student account are payablewhether or not the student plans to use these services. Thesefees are used to support student activities and the operationof the university facilities and are subject to change.A description of all fees is provided in the Schedule ofCharges section below.Room and Board charges are normally reviewed andset annually by the <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong> Council of Trustees;however, room and board is subject to change at any timeby the council. A complete room and board charge scheduleis shown below.<strong>University</strong> Refunds of tuition and fees for classwithdrawal are granted in accordance with the policyestablished by the State System of Higher Education Boardof Governors and are subject to change at any time by theboard. To receive a refund, students must officially withdrawthrough the Registrar’s Office. A 100 percent refund will begranted only if a student officially withdraws before or on thefirst day of classes. After the first day of classes, partial refundsare granted based on the following schedule:Fall and Spring SemestersWithdrawal DatePercentage RefundedFirst day of semester and before 100%First week 90%Second week 80%Third week 70%Fourth week 60%Fifth week 50%After the fifth weekNo refundRefunds for fall/spring sessions that start on datesother than the official fall and spring class start dates aredetermined independently based on the session start dateand length.Billing Statements are mailed to the student’s permanent(home) address approximately 30 days prior to the startof the semester. Billing and payment instructions thatinclude updated tuition, fee, room and board chargesalong with complete billing and payment informationfor the current semester are mailed with each semester’sinitial billing statement. Each month, students with unpaidbalances are sent a billing statement showing the amount due.A Monthly Payment Plan option is offered to <strong>Clarion</strong><strong>University</strong> students. Please refer to the billing informationsent with each semester’s initial billing for payment planinformation.Schedule of ChargesAn Application Fee is a non-refundable fee of $30 thatmust accompany each application for admission.An Admissions Deposit of $100 must be paid uponreceipt of notice of approval of application for admission.The $100 fee is not refundable but is deducted from thestudent’s first semester charges.<strong>Undergraduate</strong> Tuition is set by the Board of Governorsof the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education andis subject to change at any time by the board.2007-08 Academic YearPennsylvania resident:Full-time (12-18 credits)$2,588.50/semesterFor each credit over 18 credits $216/creditPart-time (fewer than 12 credits) $216/creditInternational students:Full-time (12-18 credits)$6,472/semesterFor each credit over 18 credits $539/creditPart-time (fewer than 12 credits) $539/creditNon-Pennsylvania resident:Full-time (12-18 credits)$5,177/semesterFor each credit over 18 credits $431/creditPart-time (fewer than 12 credits) $431/creditRoom Charges for double occupancy of a furnishedroom is $1,995 per student per semester. The rental agreement for university residencehalls is for one academic year.Students are responsible for damages, breakage, loss,or delayed return of university property.
