The deposit is credited to theSpring Semester room charges.Semester FeesA Technology Fee of $87.50 for full-time Pennsylvaniaresidents and $132 for non-Pennsylvania residents is chargedto: (1) acquire, install, and maintain up-to-date and emergingtechnologies for the purpose of enhancing student-learningoutcomes; (2) to provide equitable access to technologyresources and; (3) to ensure, ultimately, that state systemgraduates are competitive in the technology-sophisticatedworkplace.An Instructional Support Fee in the amount of 10percent of tuition for Pennsylvania residents is assessedeach semester to every student. The revenue from this feeis used to upgrade instructional equipment, improve libraryholdings, and for other instructional support purposes.A Health Center Fee in the amount of 3.3 percent oftuition for Pennsylvania residents is charged each semesterto every <strong>Clarion</strong> Campus student. The fee covers the cost ofoperating and maintaining Keeling Health Center.A Student Center Fee (for <strong>Clarion</strong> Campus only) in theamount of 6.6 percent of tuition for Pennsylvania residentsis charged each semester to every <strong>Clarion</strong> Campus student.The fee covers the cost of operating and maintaining theGemmell Student Complex.A Student Support Fee (for Venango Campus only) in theamount of 8.4 percent of tuition for Pennsylvania residentsis charged each semester to every Venango Campus student.The fee covers the cost of student support services providedat Venango Campus.A Student Activity Fee is required to be paid by allstudents prorated on the following basis:<strong>Clarion</strong> Campus Venango Campus12 or more credits $149/semester $144/semester9-11 credits $74.50/semester $72/semester1-8 credits $37.25/semester $36/semesterThe fee is administered by the <strong>Clarion</strong> Students’Association, which is a student organization approved bythe Council of Trustees. The activity fee covers the cost ofathletic, social, musical, theatre, and recreational activities.A Recreation Center Fee in the amount of 3.6 percent oftuition for Pennsylvania residents is charged each semesterto every <strong>Clarion</strong> Campus student. The fee covers the cost ofoperating and maintaining the Student Recreation Center.A Transitions Fee is charged to all new incoming<strong>Clarion</strong> Campus first-time-in-college (FTIC) students. The feeis $150 for FTIC students, $100 for new transfer students, and$30 for second-year students at the start of their third semester at<strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong>. The fee helps cover the costs of Orientation,Discovery Weekend just prior to the beginning of each semester,Exploration co-curricular activities during the freshman year,and Focus activities during the sophomore year.Students assigned to an internship, student teaching,or similar program outside a 50-mile radius of the <strong>Clarion</strong>Campus are exempt from the health center, student center,and recreation center fees and are only required to pay 50percent of the student activity fee. However, students mustnotify the Student Accounts Receivable Office of theirexempt status in order to receive appropriate reduction oftheir fees.Other Fees and ChargesA Clinical Appraisal Fee of $20 is charged for eachclinical appraisal conducted by the Speech and HearingClinic.A Graduation Fee of $15 is charged to each graduatingstudent. The fee covers the cost of commencement and theprinting of diplomas.Late Payment Fees—All charges (tuition, fees, room,meal, other) posted to a student account that are notcovered by financial aid are due to be paid the first day ofthe semester. A $50 late payment fee will be charged 30days after the start of the semester to accounts with unpaidbalances in excess of $250. Additional $25 late payment feeswill be posted to accounts with unpaid balances in excess of$250 at 60 and 90 days after the start of the semester. Totalmaximum late payment fee per semester is $100. To avoidlate payment fees, all charges not covered by financial aidshould be paid by the start of the semester.Students may obtain Parking Permits from the PublicSafety Department to park their motor vehicles on universityproperty. Venango Campus students must obtain a permitat the Frame Administration Building. The fee for studentparking is set annually. Permits are valid from September1 to August 31 each academic year. New permits are issuedat the beginning of each Fall Semester.A one-time Transcript Fee of $15 is assessed to allstudents during their first semester. The fee entitles thestudent to free transcripts for life.A one-time Graduation Fee of $15 is charged to eachstudent in the last year of their academic program.The cost of Books and Supplies depends on the coursesin which the student is enrolled. Books and supplies arenot billed on the semester invoice. Payment for booksand supplies must be made to the <strong>University</strong> Bookstore atthe time of purchase. Fees are subject to change at anytime.
